Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) has grown to become Australia's largest national educational program for children on the autism spectrum, with 9 independent schools operating from 50 locations in New South Wales and South Australia catering to over 1,200 students, with more than 100 classes in hosted on the grounds of a less specialised school.

About the School: 

Aspect Hunter School provides placement for over 120 children on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 6 from Thornton, as well as from 6 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools, across the region, including a high school class in Port Macquarie.

About the role: 

Provide excellent, friendly and timely service across all points of contact at the school. Work as part of a team and be responsible for providing administrative support across a range of duties.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage finance information and systems including petty cash, banking and credit card statements
• Prepare and submit fortnightly staff payroll claims and liaise with Aspect’s payroll team
• Liaise with the Principal and Aspect management to undertake the coordination of maintenance schedules including building and maintenance issues
• Attend to telephone calls, take messages and communicate as necessary
• Provide a high level of general office administrative support;
• Provide front desk cover as required
• Liaise with Aspect’s IT team and assist staff with basic computer issues

Skills, qualifications and experience:

• Outstanding communication, organisation and time management skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Experience with accounting processes and procedures e.g. banking, petty cash, payment of accounts, reconciliation
• Capacity to work effectively as part of a team and independently;
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality;
• Demonstrated ability to handle emergency and stressful situations professionally
• NSW Working With Children Check
• Depending on the school’s location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver’s licence (per relevant state legislation)
• A Light Rigid (LR) Driver’s licence is desirable
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
• You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance
