The organisation

ARACY champions the health and wellbeing of all Australian children and young people. Together, we drive systemic change, collaborate with communities, and amplify young voices to create a healthier, more thriving future. Our work focuses on prevention, early intervention, and equity.

Our purpose is to contribute to a world where every child and young person can thrive, now and in the future.

ARACY is focused on holistic wellbeing, including health. We aim for sustainable system change to prevent diseases and promote early intervention. Our commitment to the complete wellbeing of children and young people drives us to seek meaningful and continual systems improvements.

ARACY is a Health Promoting Charity with DGR status, governed by a volunteer Board.

At the core of ARACY’s work is “The Nest”, introduced in 2013 after consultations with over 4,000 children, families, and experts. It is a wellbeing framework for children and young people aged 0 – 24 years and conceptualises wellbeing as six interconnected domains that support each other to help children reach their potential.  ARACY also currently acts as Strategic Convenor for Thriving Queensland Kids Partnerships and the Investment Dialogue for Australia’s Children - both ambitious, long-term, structured initiatives with community and First Nations voices at its heart.

The role

The Board of ARACY is actively seeking a creative and adaptive CEO who will play a pivotal role in driving systems change and leveraging cross-sector collaboration for the well-being of children and young people.  The CEO will contribute to and support sector-wide initiatives, working closely with the Board to refine and execute the organisation’s ambitious strategy.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in systems change and cross-sector collaboration
  • Deep understanding of health, education, and First Nations engagement
  • Demonstrated team leadership and prudent financial management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Knowledge of government and philanthropic funding

The ideal candidate will be a thoughtful and strategic communicator with deep connections across corporate, government and philanthropic networks, a proven ability to forge powerful collaborations and the passion and skills to influence a broad range of stakeholders. The person will bring solid understanding of the political and policy processes and be a strong and successful collaborator able to orchestrate a range of initiatives for a peak body across health, education, social inclusion and overall development.  Importantly, they will have a genuine commitment to supporting children and young people to thrive and reach their potential.

Applications close at 5pm on the closing date.
