About the role

Reporting to the General Manager - Finance, this role is crucial to ensuring the accuracy, compliance and efficiency of our financial operations. This position will undertake financial management and administration of all agreements from pre-award to postaward including supporting management by developing budgets for funding applications, liaising with funding institutions, ensuring deliverables are met on time and stakeholders are kept abreast of the financial status of grants and contracts. This role also supports the audit, budget and month end processes.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in relevant sector as a Senior Financial Accountant with experience in audit, budgets and grants/contracts management.
  • Experience in Technology One enterprise system desirable
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Independent Preparation of Annual Financial Statements and liaison with Auditors.
  • Relevant experience in managing government grants and contracts.
  • Knowledge of funding bodies, government, and health.
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of actual expenditure.
  • Ability to plan actions and work to tight deadlines, working effectively both independently and as part of team in an environment with changing and competing demands.
  • Pro-activeness that ensures timely and satisfactory completion of requests and assigned tasks, pre-empting issues and taking appropriate initiatives to mitigate adverse outcomes, whilst ensuring all stakeholders and customers are kept informed and up-to-date on progress.
  • Exposure to tendering and project management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to apply high level interpretation of data to succinctly present and tailor information to the appropriate audience.
  • Strong commercial, financial analysis, modelling, problem solving and decision-making skills
