An exciting opportunity exists for a communicator with journalistic flair and digital nous to continue Zoos Victoria's proactive publicity as part of the Digital Newsroom. The Senior Reporter Werribee Open Range Zoo is responsible for generating publicity via overseeing the delivery of appealing packaged digital content to increase visitation and promote Zoos Victoria's fighting extinction and conservation messages.

In this role, the successful applicant will work with Zoos Victoria's videographers and photographers to manage the production of appealing digital content about our animals, conservation campaigns, programs, events and people, to publicise Zoos Victoria's fighting extinction message and encourage visitation to our zoos.
The Senior Reporter will have a strong editorial and journalistic skill-set, and will develop close relationships with Zoos Victoria's talented staff to seek out stories, facts and data, which can be packaged into complete stories for proactive pitching to media, as well as being used across Zoos Victoria's owned channels (social, web and other).

You will bring your exceptional writing and communication skills to this role, in addition to strong media relations and a proven ability to work in cross-functional teams effectively in addition to individual projects. You will have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and organisations, develop networks and be a persuasive advocate in promoting Zoos Victoria's vision and objectives. In addition, you will hold tertiary qualifications in Journalism and/or Public Relations. Experience or knowledge of working with science, environment, conservation and not-for-profit sectors will also be advantageous.

A current Victorian Driver's licence and reliable vehicle is essential. A Working With Children check is required upon successful application.
