ABOUT THIS ROLE

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Senior Practice Leader to join our Organisation Capability and People Team. This role is offered on a part time (15.2 hours per week) basis and can be based in any of our locations, with the option to have a hybrid work from home model.

This newly created role will enable the organisation to develop a high quality, evidenced based practice culture as well as design and establish a Community of Practice for service delivery. The role will support the strengthening of the skills and knowledge of service delivery staff integrating theory and research into practice. This role reporting to the Quality and Compliance Manager will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to finalise and implement our National Practice Framework and Case Management Framework procedures.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, or similar with eligibility for membership to a recognised professional body.
• Demonstrated experience of working with key therapeutic and practice approaches within a homelessness, housing, and family/ domestic violence context including:
  • Trauma Informed Practice
  • Recovery Principles
  • Housing First and Supportive Housing Principles
• Substantial knowledge of the interpersonal and structural issues faced by people (and women specific) experiencing homelessness and/ or housing risk.
• Significant experience in the assessment and provision of service responses for clients with a history of trauma and/or abuse.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with, motivate, train and mentor teams to ensure delivery of interventions
  • Substantial experience in leading critical reflection, applying theoretical frameworks and referring to research and literature to inform case practice and decision making at an advanced level
  • Demonstrated ability in the design and provision of training packages
  • Strong alignment to YWCA Values
• Experience in influencing others and moving toward a common practice.
• Solid understanding of change management principles and change processes.
• Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office and client management systems, and experience in report writing.

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements. This includes:

• Completion of a national criminal history check
• A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.
• Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination, which includes Government recommended boosters.
