About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Campus (School) Administrator to join The Y Vocational School opening in January 2022.

The Y Vocational School is a CARE School that offers courses assisting disengaged students in Years 10 to 12, enabling them to have a "Real Opportunity" to achieve their full potential through positive educational studies, activities, and outcomes.

Through delivering a flexible and innovative learning program, The Y Vocational School will be able to facilitate the transitional education of young people who have barriers impacting on their capacity to engage in mainstream education.

Reporting directly to the Principal, you will be responsible for the reception and administrative function of The Y Vocational School. You will be working as part of a small team and will provide key support in the lead up to the school opening and once the school has been established.

Duties

  • Provide administrative support and assistance to the Principal
  • Maintain accurate student files and office records, assist with data collection and WH&S tasks
  • General reception duties, including answering enquires and scheduling meetings
  • Basic accounting and reporting duties.

Essential requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar administrative role within a school environment
  • Experience working with at least one of the following: SIRS, SCSA or OLNA dashboard.
  • Minimum education level of Certificate III or above in Business, Office Administration or similar
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to supporting marginalised young people and their families
  • Ability to perform and manage a wide range of complex administration and finance duties
  • Can work successfully in a small team
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Highly developed interpersonal, customer service, and written communication skills
  • Previous experience using Edumate or any other Student Management System
  • Previous experience of the WA and Federal Student Census processes (desirable)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance or similar (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the youth sector (desirable)
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications or willingness to obtain.
