About the role

As a Stormwater and Sustainable Design Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will provide expert guidance in stormwater management and sustainable design, leading the assessment of development applications. You’ll help drive improvements in the design, construction and operation of Council infrastructure, contributing specialist insight to planning services, capital works and stormwater investigations. You will also support Business Continuity and Emergency Management activities to help the organisation respond effectively during times of crisis.

This is a full-time temporary 12 month role (38 hours per week).

This is a Band 6 role with a salary range between $98,432 and $107,292 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for

  • Performs physical tasks safely and effectively, including accessing and moving through challenging outdoor environments, with pre-employment medical assessments used to confirm capacity where required.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering. Similar qualifications will also be considered.
  • Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers. If you have some but not all these skills or experience, we still encourage you to apply. Especially if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn.
