Wyndham CEC’s English language programs are highly valued by the community and our student cohort continues to grow. As a result, we are seeking qualified EAL teachers (AMEP / SEE) – starting immediately or from Term 3.

  • Option of part-time (10-20 hrs teaching/week) and full-time (25hrs teaching/week) roles

Founded in 1974, Wyndham CEC is one of Victoria’s largest Adult & Community Education providers and a leader in supporting people and communities to make positive changes for their future.

Wyndham CEC delivers the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the Skills for Education & Employment (SEE) program for Learning for Employment in Wyndham and Barwon. Our community-based education model connects students to settlement, employment and local services.

About the roles

Responsible for quality teaching and assessing of AMEP or SEE within Wyndham CEC’s Training Services Unit. This includes:

  • Delivering classes and providing support to adult students
  • Conducting and reporting assessments
  • Ensuring students receive inclusive, consistent and relevant service
  • Demonstrating a commitment to work with culturally diverse communities.

Classes are delivered across community-based sites in Wyndham.

Generally, classes start at 9am and finish between 2:30pm & 3:30pm.

Night classes are from 5:30pm – 8:30pm.

Typically, contracts are for 40 weeks per year.

You are able to create inclusive, engaging learning environments for adult learners from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

You have the skills and qualifications to deliver programs that provide students with pathways to further education and employment.

You have the right to work in Australia.

Mandatory Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • Applicants must meet AMEP/SEE teacher qualification requirements, including a post-graduate qualification in TESOL and TAE credentials.
  • Current Working with Children Check/VIT Registration
  • Willingness to undertake a Police check
