About Us

The Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation (Wurundjeri Corporation) is a Registered Aboriginal Party appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006. The Corporation holds statutory responsibilities for the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and Aboriginal intangible heritage on Wurundjeri Country. Additional functions of the Corporation include, environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional welcome to country and smoking ceremonies, research and cultural consolations.

About the Role

This is a strategic and hands-on role funded under Economic Development. The primary purpose is to build the professional workforce capacity of the Wurundjeri community. You will act as the bridge between Wurundjeri job seekers, internal business units and external industry partners. This role is about implementing the Victorian Aboriginal Employment and Economic Strategy (Yuma Yirramboi) at a local level. You will develop training initiatives, mentor staff, and leverage the Social Procurement Framework to ensure Wurundjeri people secure meaningful, long-term employment on country.

About You

  • Contribute to a team environment that fosters and develops effective working relationships and a high-performance culture.
  • High level of engagement and alignment to the mission and priorities of the Wurundjeri Corporation both internal and external.
  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit organisation or working with First Nations Peoples.
  • Working with children's check and a national police check, (or be willing to obtain).
