The Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation is a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic.). We represent the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Traditional Owners of Melbourne and the Greater Melbourne region, and we take great pride in our responsibility for protecting and managing Aboriginal cultural heritage objects and places on Wurundjeri Country. The Corporation offers a range of cultural services including environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremonies, research, and cultural consultations.

Purpose

The Administration and Project Officer role sits within the Policy & Partnerships Unit, which has responsibility for developing strong, ongoing, ‘whole of organisation’ partnerships that lead to ongoing and increasing opportunities for the Corporation.

This role is responsible for providing administration support and coordinating projects on behalf of the Policy & Partnerships unit. This role will include working collaboratively with the other staff of the unit on a wide variety of external stakeholder projects and support activities.

This is an exciting new role that will work with many people across the organisation. It provides an opportunity to use skills in MS 365 suite of tools, excellent relationship building skills and an attitude of being flexible, agile and solutions-focused.

Key responsibilities

  1. Preparing, reviewing, booking, and aiding with the facilitation of presentations online and occasionally in person.
  2. Recording and distributing meeting minutes and follow up actions, including the weekly Policy and Partnerships sub-committee meeting.
  3. Drafting communications including emails, liaising and scheduling meetings with external partners and stakeholders.
  4. Preparing Board Briefs for the Wurundjeri Corporation Board.
  5. Assisting with a range of administrative duties, including: ensuring SharePoint is up to date and occasional mailouts.
  6. Organising on-Country days.
  7. Liaising with external organisations and project management.
  8. Developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with the Wurundjeri Elders, Wurundjeri staff and other stakeholders as required to perform your role.
  9. Liaising with external organisations and project delivery.

  • Highly developed oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders

Skills and qualifications

  • Right to work in Australia without restriction.
  • National Police Check.
