Wunan Health is a multidisciplinary primary healthcare service based in Kununurra, delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate care to the East Kimberley community and to the many visitors of our magnificent region. As the only GP Practice servicing the region between the Northern Territory border and Broome, we play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our diverse population.

In recent years, Wunan Health has expanded its services with delivery across headspace Kununurra, an Allied Health program, Advocacy program and KWIC – Kununurra Withdrawal Intervention Centre.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Practice Nurse on a full-time, fixed-term basis. This is a unique opportunity to work in a rewarding rural and remote setting, contributing to comprehensive, patient-centred care.
 
The Practice Nurse will work collaboratively with GPs, allied health professionals, and the broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality clinical care across a wide range of presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical nursing support within the general practice setting
  • Assist with chronic disease management and care planning
  • Conduct health assessments, wound care, and immunisations
  • Support preventive health initiatives and patient education
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

About You

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Experience in general practice or primary healthcare (desirable)
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to culturally safe practice, particularly with Aboriginal communities
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy, multidisciplinary team
