Your new role

This is a great opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

You will be involved in a variety of tasks including document review, casework assistance, brief preparation and legal and non-legal research. You will be a skilled multi-tasker with an eye for detail.

Provide paralegal services to the Legal Team, including legal and non-legal research, drafting legal documentation, court documentation preparation, and delivery of written information for consideration by the Legal Team for inclusion in briefs and other legal documents

  • Organising and managing files, paperwork, data and evidence
  • Perform data entry and data reviews ensuring accuracy and relevance of legal data and documentation recorded
  • Support intake and referral of service users
  • Assist in managing communications with clients, either by phone, email or other written communications
  • Assisting lawyers with the conduct of cases
  • Supporting the Managing Lawyers with diary management

This is a full time or part time (minimum 4 days) position.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong oral and written communication skills. Your ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients, coupled with excellent time management, will be key. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing paralegal support, or similar is required.

  • Fine-tuned research skills, with a solution focused and resourceful approach
  • Strong document management skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Capacity to exercise sound judgement in dealing with sensitive, confidential matters
  • A Certificate IV in Legal Services (desirable)

  • Advancing gender equality by challenging unsafe and discriminatory policies and laws and informing and advocating for legal and policy initiatives that respect and promote the rights of women
