The WNSW PHN is one of 31 Primary Health Networks across Australia established by the Australian Government to support frontline health services. Our focus is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of primary health care, ensuring people receive the right care in the right place at the right time. To achieve this, we work closely with general practice, Aboriginal Medical Services and other health care providers, Local Health Districts, non-government organisations and the broader community.
The Support Officer - Immunisation & Cancer Screening works within own scope of practice, service protocols and alongside the Immunisation & Cancer Screening Coordinator to support culturally safe Aboriginal Community engagement to develop and implement quality improvement Immunisation & Cancer Screening activities.
The position is designed to provide a culturally safe service delivery and work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Professionals and general practices within the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) area to enhance knowledge, understanding and confidence in making decisions (health literacy) that relate to the National Cancer Screening Programs: breast, bowel and cervical cancer.
WNSW PHN has a strong focus and commitment to addressing Aboriginal health inequality across the region and your commitment to the values of improving Aboriginal outcomes is highly valued. These roles will work closely with relevant internal staff and commissioned services providers to facilitate the adoption and implementation of the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) Cultural Safety and Clinical Governance Frameworks.
The position can be based in any one of our offices which include Orange, Dubbo or Bathurst.
