Your new role

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will provide an active service model with the emphasis on coordinating, recruiting, training, supporting and retaining volunteers to assist consumers to participate in everyday activities, maintain or rebuild confidence, improve social connectedness and emotional wellbeing, and stay active and healthy.

In this role, you will lead implementation of processes for engaging volunteers, participants and carers in the ongoing development, review and evaluation of activities. You will refer to individual’s goals, take account of diversity and the needs and preferences of participants when planning programs and activities.

Your skills and experience

  • Relevant tertiary/post-secondary qualifications in community services, disability or related disciplines and/or experience working with vulnerable people.
  • Current Valid Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Current first aid and CPR certificates (or able to complete within the first 6 months of employment)
  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination and support role
  • Ability to coordinate capacity building and social inclusion activities for people with all abilities
  • Proven ability to effectively engage and collaborate with a volunteer workforce in a manner that recognises their contributions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in a multi-skilling learning environment and a self-managing team.
