About the opportunity

As a Room Leader for our Early Learning Centre in Horsham, you will be responsible for ensuring all children and families attending the service are provided with a safe, stimulating and supportive environment.

The position will also be responsible for:

• Supervision and assistance to other Early Years educators within the service to ensure practices and processes are consistent with regulatory compliance.
• Monitoring the day-to-day operation of the centre and provide feedback to management to make informed decisions regarding the operation of the program.
• Assist in service delivery at peak times or as required at any Uniting Wimmera Early Years’ service and is flexible with working hours according to service delivery requirements.
• Ensuring that all requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law and Acts, National Quality frameworks, and policies and procedures of Uniting are met.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a minimum of Diploma in Education and Care (or equivalent as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority).

You will also have:

• Prior experience working in a kindergarten and / or other early childhood service providing high-quality care and educational services for children.
• Demonstrated skills in staff supervision.
• Proven reporting, time management and administrative skills
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates*
• Current Employee Working with Children Check
