About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and passionate professional to join our high performing casework team in Uniting’s Asylum Seeker Programs.

The primary functions for this role includes:

  • To provide effective, high quality, strengths-based and culturally appropriate case management services to people seeking asylum who reside in ASP properties
  • Contribute to and deliver projects that foster community development among ASP clients and people seeking asylum more broadly
  • Stakeholder management, including public speaking when required
  • Outreach will be involved with this role, so a current driver’s license is essential

About you

We are seeking an energetic and experienced caseworker with a proven ability to work with people seeking asylum in Australia. You will have experience in a similar role, knowledge of current trends, resources and information related to people seeking asylum.

To be successful in this role, you will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships. In addition, you will have demonstrated experience in the provision of community based programs providing support to people from multicultural backgrounds.

A qualification in Social Work, Social/Community Welfare, Behaviour Sciences is required.
