About the opportunity

We have an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and experienced individual to work with a highly reputable and iconic community services organisation.

The Carer Advocate will support unpaid carers facing barriers to employment and training by providing individualised employment training pathways across various industries. The role entails connecting carers with relevant services to help them prepare for and secure work and training.

About you

You’re a self motivated professional with experience in the training, employment, community (or similar) sector, with an interest in supporting carers with their transition into training or employment.

You will have previous experience (and/or understanding) of:

  • Networking and community relations
  • Assessing the needs of participants
  • Training, coaching or mentoring
  • Delivering pre-employment targeted training
  • Providing pre-employment support
  • Ongoing servicing and support
  • Dealing with complex and co-existing client needs
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail

Qualities that will help you succeed in the role are flexibility, resourcefulness, creativity and an ability to work both in a team and independently.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Current valid driving license
  • Intermediate computer & reporting skills

Desirable:
