ABOUT THE ROLE

The William Angliss Institute, Skills and Jobs Centre (SJC) is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Careers Counsellor to contribute to the Skills and Jobs Centre by providing coordinated, individual course and career counselling support services to a wide range of clients. Additionally you will also deliver workshops, projects, resources and programs in collaboration with internal/external community.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Provide coordinated, individual, career counselling and support services.
  • Deliver face to face presentations, workshops, webinars as required.
  • Provide training and development to the team.
  • Actively promote and advocate careers advisory services and events.
  • Maintain and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

For each Key Selection Criteria, explain how you meet the Selection Criteria based on your current/previous work and life experience:

  • A Graduate Certificate (or higher) in Career Education and Development and significant relevant experience; OR a Certificate IV qualification in Career Education and Development and significant relevant experience AND a willingness to obtain additional qualifications.
  • Client/Case management expertise- particularly with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds - skilled at addressing individuals’ career aspirations and needs.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate initiative and develop, promote and deliver careers advisory activities and services that are appropriate and engaging.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strategic relationships for beneficial outcomes.
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data capture and preparing reports.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that align with the William Angliss Institute Values.
