Nature Conservation Fund Grants Committee Member (Voluntary)

Wildcare Tasmania

Are you looking for a professional volunteer opportunity to make a genuine contribution to the care of Tasmania’s wild places and wildlife?

This may be the opportunity for you!

Expressions of Interest are now being sought for Grants Committee members of Wildcare’s Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund.

Wildcare Tasmania Inc. is a registered charity caring for Tasmania’s wild places and wildlife in partnership with land managers. We do this with the support of community volunteers, donors and a small office team.

Wildcare Tasmania is endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift recipient and maintains a Gift Fund - the Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund (TNCF), which accepts donations to support the work needed in caring for our wild places and wildlife.

The Grants Committee is appointed by the Wildcare Board and its role includes assessing grant applications made to the TNCF. The Wildcare Board is seeking expressions of interest for up to 3 TNCF Grants Committee members. If you have a passion to contribute to the conservation of Tasmania’s natural heritage, and have any of the following skills, we encourage you to apply:

  • Nature conservation
  • Reserved land management
  • Legal, particularly in relation to not for profit organisations and/or gift funds
  • Teamwork and leadership

The majority of members of the Grants Committee must be ‘responsible persons’ as described by the ATO. All positions are voluntary. Reasonable travel expenses may be reimbursed on application.

A copy of the position description can be found here, or in the attachment below.
