The Whittlesea Community Legal Service, which is incorporated into Whittlesea Community Connections, is looking for an entry level Community Lawyer to join our growing team. We are a collaborative, supportive and experienced legal team that looks to meet the legal needs of our diverse community within the City of Whittlesea. 

This is a new fixed-term role, reporting to the Principal Solicitor, and will be responsible for maintaining a generalist legal practice in civil law and family law matters which fall within the Community Legal Service’s Case Management Guidelines. Your practice will include providing advice, limited case work and limited representation in divorce matters, under supervision and guidance of the Principal Solicitor and other senior members of the legal team. 

You will also be provided an opportunity to diversify your practice by preparing and delivering community legal education activities and presentations, participate in law reform and advocacy, attend legal outreach within the City of Whittlesea, participate in school outreach and delivering legal education sessions in schools. You will also have the opportunity to support the delivery of law student legal clinics through WCC’s partnership with La Trobe University and participate in WCC’s Health Justice Partnerships.
