Youth Work Case Manager

  • 9 Month Full Time Contract - 38 Hours per week (Possible extension of contract if additional funding becomes available)
  • Possibility of work in early evenings
  • Salary based on experience/qualifications and SCHADS Award Level 3.1 to 3.3 ($31.02 per hour to $32.60 per hour)

Whitelion focus on building positive connections and pathways to work for at-risk youth. In Western Australia, Whitelion provides centre-based and outreach case management support services to youth at-risk primarily across Perth’s Northern suburbs.

About the Role

Whitelion believe strongly in supporting young people from a holistic, strength-based perspective. In this role, you will work within Whitelion’s Deadly Diversions: Youth Support & Development team and be directly responsible for the provision of outreach case management support and the conduct of small group programs for at-risk and vulnerable young people referred directly from WA Police.

We are seeking a committed, highly motivated and passionate Youth Work Case Manager who has experience and capability to conduct case management duties with highly at-risk and disadvantaged young people. Standard Police Clearance and Working with Children Checks apply. A Driver Licence is essential.

It is also preferable that applicants:

  • Hold a minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent
  • Undertake Practice aligned with the YACWA Code of Ethics
  • Have experience and competence in working with young people with trauma issues
  • Have experience and competence in working with young people with AOD use issues
  • Have experience and competence in working with Aboriginal young people

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • One-to-one autonomous case management planning and support for at-risk young people
  • Client motivating, engagement and goal setting
  • Maintaining client records and database entry which supports program evaluation
  • Conducting life skills, recreation and alternative learning experiences relevant to client development
  • Working effectively in partnership and collaboration with stakeholders and local community groups
