Wellways is committed to reconciliation, lived experience and inclusivity. We strongly encourage and warmly welcome people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with a lived experience of mental health and disability and peoplewho identify as LGBTIQA+ to apply. Even if you only meet some of the criteria, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support participants engaged in the service and build professional, trusting relationships and empower them along their journey towards recovery.
Recovery Workers are essential to the success of our Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) services. Based at Deer Park, you'll support people on their recovery journey by providing day-to-day psychosocial support, facilitating group programs, and working alongside clinical teams to promote wellbeing and connection.
You'll build respectful, collaborative relationships with participants and create a safe, inclusive environment that supports individual strengths, values lived experience and encourages choice and self-direction. Recovery Workers also contribute to the continuous improvement of our services by offering insights, ideas, and practical support in the day-to-day running of the program.
PARCs operate 24/7 and penalty rates apply for afternoon, evening and weekend hours. Availability to work a rotating fortnightly roster is essential for this role, including weekday day shifts and regular Saturday shifts.
The Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) program is a partnership between Wellways and Melbourne Health's North Western Mental Health (NWMH) service. It provides short-term, sub-acute residential support for people who are either at risk of becoming unwell or who are transitioning out of hospital and need a safe space to continue their recovery.
PARC services offer a welcoming, home-like environment where people receive both clinical and psychosocial support tailored to their goals. Our recovery-oriented approach values cultural safety, peer participation, community connection, and evidence-informed practice.
Wellways connects people, strengthens families, and transforms communities for individuals of all ages experiencing disabilities or challenges to their social and emotional wellbeing. A leading for purpose mental health and disability support organisation operating nationally, our services span mental health, disability and community care and reach more than 7000 people each year!
Working with a diverse range of people, Wellways creates an inclusive community where everyone can imagine and achieve their hopes and potential.
For a confidential discussion about the role, please call Joel Casemore on 0403 092 643.
We encourage early applications as successful applicants may be contacted prior to closing date.
Wellways is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people. Successful applicants must undergo a comprehensive screening process prior to their commencement.
