An excellent opportunity is available for an Academic Administrator to join the Scientific Education Office at Australia's pre-eminent biomedical research institute.
The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute as the Department of Medical Biology of the University of Melbourne offers a Bachelor of Science Honours program, MRes and PhD programs. The Scientific Education Office coordinates and implements course content in these programs and ensures high standards of education. The office manages academic evaluation of students and conceives and conducts professional development workshops for postdocs and students, as well as providing arbitration and pastoral care for our students.
The Academic Administrator will ensure effective management of Graduate Researchers, for a cohort of approximately 200 candidates, using a case management approach that includes end-to-end administration of each student's candidature, from:
It will be important to communicate administrative requirements, capture information, assess cohort data - including follow-up as directed by the Head of the Scientific Education Office, Deputy Head of Education and the Education Committee to ensure efficient operations and a high level of service. Equally important is the need to inform and guide students and supervisors on relevant policies, regulations, procedures, and outcomes required by the University of Melbourne.
This role will work with academic and professional staff to ensure internal and University of Melbourne supervisor training requirements are met and guidelines and policies are followed.

This is an ongoing position in a full time capacity. Salary is PSE Level 6 ($83,556-$90,445). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
