We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and passionate Case Worker to join our Thrive program that services the Wheatbelt area and is based at our office in Northam

Thrive is a program for tenants in Aboriginal housing and public housing. Taking a holistic approach to enhancing people’s lives by looking at the wider needs of the individual. It has a strong focus on early intervention, supporting people to identify and tackle problems before they become too great.

The program assists clients to improve their life skills, increase their ability to manage their household independently and participate in their community.

About you

The successful candidate will hold a degree level qualification in a human services field and demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with families where substance abuse, domestic/family violence, child protection and/or mental health issues are present
  • Experience working with Aboriginal families and families of diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a case management model to achieve positive client outcomes
  • Ability to build relationships, liaise and advocate effectively with a range of community stakeholders in the delivery of a service
  • High level written and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to travel across the region
  • Demonstrated understanding of ‘child safe’ environment

The Role

This role is responsible for the assessment and case management of families and individuals (where there are complex needs including mental health, disability, drug and alcohol and child protection issues) to prevent homelessness, increase self-reliance and build capacity to live independently.

You will also need to:

  • Provide a satisfactory current National Police Clearance
  • A current Working with Children Card
  • Provide a current WA C Class Driver’s Licence
