The WA AIDS Council (WAAC) is a non-government organisation committed to the HIV response in Western Australia. Established in 1985, the Council leads the Western Australian community in the provision of a wide range of services in the prevention of HIV, sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne viruses, and the treatment and care of people living with HIV and AIDS.

We are currently seeking a qualified Project Officer who will provide peer-based support and education for LGBTIQ+ young people (14-26) through peer support workshops.

The successful candidate must be available to commit to the upcoming weekend workshops:

  • Metro – Belmont – 22 and 23 May 2021;
  • Regional – Port Hedland – 19 and 20 June 2021 (tentative); and
  • Karratha – 28 and 29 August 2021.

You will ideally hold a tertiary qualification in Youth Work, or significant progress towards such a qualification, or significant experience in a closely related area (or equivalent).
