The WA AIDS Council (WAAC) is committed to substantive equality as well as a diverse workforce. WAAC strongly encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, People Living with HIV, people of diverse sexuality and/or gender and people with disabilities.
We believe in the right of everyone to have the freedom to safely explore and express their individuality. Our society is stronger and more resilient when people have awareness of their personal situation, and their risks, options, and issues around sexual health and wellbeing.
The WAAC was born from a desire to end the trauma, fear, stigma and isolation caused by HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. We exist to provide support options to people who are living with HIV, or who may be at risk of infection, and to encourage the community to adopt a healthy approach to sex and relationships.
We deliver on our Vision, Mission and Values by providing counselling, assistance with case management, clinical services, education, and community engagement. We bring people together in a safe environment to increase awareness and enable informed decisions about sexual health and wellbeing.
This position makes an important contribution to our business. We welcome applications from those who can demonstrate achievement of the essential outcomes and selection criteria described below.
