Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) is the peak body for unions in Victoria. We are seeking to employ a full-time, fixed-term Project Content Producer/Communications Organiser for our Workplaces for Women Project to advance gender equality and eliminate gendered workplace harm.

The position ends on 30 June 2027.

The Workplaces for Women Project promotes gender equality and reduces gendered workplace harm and creates workplaces where women are safe, respected, equal and included.

The Project conducts outreach and development of women workers and workplace leaders, develops strategic networks, conducts and publishes research, develops resources and materials, and develops and delivers training to suit a range of audiences.

The Project works with VTHC’s affiliate unions, relevant industry stakeholders, the ACTU and other state-based Trades and Labour Councils.

We are seeking someone who is positive, energetic and passionate about gender equality and eliminating gendered workplace harm to manage Project visual and graphic design resource development.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Fast-paced content production in a creative team
  • Distilling complex ideas about social and economic justice (including industrial campaigns) into engaging content
  • Supporting Project staff to build lists, generate leads, and target advertising effectively
  • Visual and graphic design tasks including but not limited to social media content, website design, posters, brochures, flyers, fact sheets and reports
  • Developing and executing social strategy to build the profile of the project, and deliver strong results
  • Using your knowledge and experience of social media communities to help develop strategies for growth and engagement
  • Other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated commitment to gender equality and trade union values
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
  • Strong graphic and visual design skills
  • Competency in using Adobe Suite products including Photoshop and InDesign to produce a wide variety of communications products
  • Proficiency in producing and co-ordinating high-performing organic and paid digital content
  • Sound editorial judgment such as in content creation and moderation
  • Track record in engaging, growing and mobilising communities online
  • Ability to plan and execute creative and brand strategy in accordance with Project goals
  • Skills in providing timely and effective testing, analysis, reporting and response to data trends of organic and paid content
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to contribute to a positive team culture of experimentation, innovation, evaluation and transparency/accountability.

BONUS CRITERIA

  • Experience working at a trade union, not for profit or progressive organisations
  • Qualifications in marketing or related field
  • Strong personal social media.

MORE INFORMATION

This position is a fixed-term, full-time position set at Level 4 or 5 of our classification structure (approx. $83,000 - $91,000), dependent on experience.

The position ends on 30 June 2027. The Victorian Trades Hall Council has an Enterprise Agreement with a monthly RDO (in recognition of occasional additional hours).

This position is based at Victorian Trades Hall in Carlton.

This position reports to the Assistant Secretary and Secretary through the Team leadership. Some irregular hours and regional travel may be required in this role.
