Digital Fundraising Organiser

Victorian Trades Hall Council

The Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) is looking for a person who is excited about experimenting with digital organising to fundraise for working people.

We’re looking for a digital fundraising organiser to work in our digital/data team, running our digital fundraising program and supporting unions to run digital campaigns.

Duties include

  • Identify and develop fundraising opportunities for affiliated unions and Trades Hall teams to raise money to support their work, including a regular donor fundraising program
  • Help to manage social media channels, websites, and our email program
  • Write and edit compelling emails, and develop copy and strategy for social media fundraising campaigns
  • Assist with managing our membership lists, including monitoring and interpreting how people engage with the emails we send, if the emails are effective in raising money, and if the email list is growing
  • Create and test fundraising landing pages

There are no formal education requirements. Even if you only meet some of these requirements, but think you’re right for the job and are ready to learn, we're keen to hear from you.

  • A commitment to social justice and trade union principles
  • Understand basic data analysis, experience in developing and interpreting A/B tests
  • Previous experience in a digital role
  • High level digital fluency, including knowledge of and experience with digital campaign platforms
  • Keen to contribute to a team culture of experimentation, innovation, evaluation and learning
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with a solid understanding of how to apply these to campaigning, and able to communicate complex issues simply and clearly
  • Able to take initiative, solve problems, and identify opportunities to win campaigns and grow our movement with tech solutions

Trades Hall has a collective agreement with a monthly RDO and 12% superannuation. The position will be paid at a level 4 or 5 (approx. $73,000-$80,000) in our classification structure, depending on experience.

We strongly encourage people from CALD backgrounds, First Nations, people with a disability, women and LGBTIQA+ people to apply. A statement of reasonable adjustments is available on request for people with a disability.
