The Accessible Beaches project aims to establish an inclusive and participatory pathway for people living with disabilities to access the Gold Coast's legendary beaches during the summer months. Operating every Saturday & Public Holiday, Volunteering Services Australia volunteers facilitate the use of existing Mobi- Mats and beach wheelchairs at various Surf Life Saving Clubs across the Gold Coast.
As the Accessible Beaches Coordinator, you will be the champion of the project, ensuring the smooth operation at all participating clubs. The role will involve managing the volunteers and liaising with the Surf Life Saving Clubs, both in the Volunteering Services Australia office and on-site at various beach locations.
This is a seasonal role, running for 5 months from January 2020 till the end of the summer patrol season in May 2020.
This position is based on 15 hours per week, across 3 days, at an hourly rate of $23.97.
This will include 1 x full day each Friday, 1 x half day on a suitable weekday and 1 x half day each Saturday. You may also be required to be on call on Public Holidays.
