VMIAC is the peak Victorian non-government organisation for people with lived experience as consumers of mental health services. We work to ensure consumer voices are heard, respected, and influential in shaping systems, services, and communities.
Owned, governed, managed, and staffed by people with mental health consumer lived experience, VMIAC builds leadership, participation, and collective action to strengthen the consumer movement across Victoria.
As Graphic Designer and Communications Coordinator, you will play a key part in strengthening VMIAC’s communications and movement-building work.
The role contributes to the development of VMIAC’s visual identity, produces print and digital communications, social media and website content, coordinates communications workflows across teams, liaises with suppliers, and assists with campaign planning and implementation.
You are passionate about using your creativity and project coordination skills to improve the mental health system for the people accessing it.
You are a trained designer with 4+ years of experience in a similar role. You are experienced producing high-quality print-ready and digital-ready artwork across multiple formats and channels.
You are experienced creating content for social media channels and maintaining websites. You are confident using CRM platforms and project management tools to improve workflows and productivity. And you have a strong portfolio or website showcasing your graphic design skills and experience.
This is a lived experience consumer position. We are looking for someone who has personal experience of mental health challenges, trauma, or emotional distress and has used mental health services to support their wellbeing. Most importantly, you will be able to reflect on your lived experience in relation to others and contribute to inclusive, respectful, and psychologically safe participation.
We strongly encourage applications from First Nations people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, d/Deaf and Disabled people, and people from the LGBTIQA+ community.
If you don’t meet all the requirements but are confident you’re able to carry out the responsibilities to a high standard, we encourage you to apply.
A Police Check and Victorian Working with Children Check are required prior to commencement of employment.
