VCS Foundation, trading as the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer, is a not-for-profit organisation drawing on over 50 years of expertise in cancer prevention through pathology services, cancer screening and vaccination registries. VCS Foundation has helped to reduce the mortality rate from cervical cancer in Victoria to half that of the rest of Australia. The purpose of VCS Foundation aligns with the World Health Organisation's Call to Action to eliminate cervical cancer for all women.
If you are a good communicator, highly-organised, have good attention to detail and an interest in public health, we are looking for you to join our team to support the Victorian component of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP).
VCS Foundation oversees the Participant Follow-up Function (PFUF) for the NBCSP which involves providing a telephone follow-up service for those who have participated in the bowel screening program and had a positive test result. Your duties will include phoning participants to determine their follow-up status, entering and updating data on the National Cancer Screening Register (PFUF Portal), verifying information with practitioners/specialists/hospitals, assisting with the preparation of reports and quality assurance activities.
The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills, data entry experience with a high level of accuracy, a professional phone manner, good general knowledge of computer systems and the ability to work alone and as part of a team. You should be an experienced out-board call operator with excellent keyboard skills with high accuracy. Experience in a medical or allied health field and knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage.
