ABOUT US

The Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC) is a not-for-profit (NFP) organisation with 60 years of expertise in prevention of cancer and infectious disease through provision of pathology services, cancer screening and vaccination registries. Our primary purpose is to prevent cancer and infectious diseases through excellence in the provision of population health services supporting screening and vaccination.

THE OPPORTUNITY

ACPCC is seeking a Data and Reporting Analyst to join our Population Health team. This role provides support for activities associated with the delivery of the data, analysis and reporting activities for the Victorian Cancer Screening Framework, including Power BI dashboard development, provisioning and maintenance, servicing of data requests for research and evaluation activities and supporting the preparation of annual statistical reporting.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and undertake key data and reporting activities including preparing data specifications, developing business and transformation rules, conducting data quality reviews and managing the analysis, testing and preparation of datasets.
  • Extract and provide data, reports and information to support monitoring and evaluation, statistical reports and to support research activities.
  • Leverage Business Intelligence reporting tools, standard reports and other software packages to generate data outputs, including the translation and interpretation of data into dashboards, briefings, and discussion papers.
  • Analyse and interpret complex and sensitive population health datasets to ensure data quality and integrity, identifying data anomalies, data gaps, trends and emerging issues.
  • Develop and provide technical, descriptive, analytical and statistical reports to meet the needs of external and internal key stakeholders, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

An analytical and detail-oriented data professional with expertise in end-to-end analytic workflows—from cleaning and transforming data, to analysing and developing insights which make use of and deliver engaging interactive insights via Power BI and other reporting formats. The key selection criteria include:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or proven success in a similar role, from a discipline such as Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Informatics or Data Science.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in data extraction, analysis, interpretation of outputs and the production of statistical insights and reporting
  • Technical ability and experience in the development and maintenance of Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI-based reporting
  • Foundational knowledge and skills in data management and data transformation processes.
  • Proficiency with report writing tools, spreadsheet applications and statistical software such as R, STATA or similar.
  • Ability to engage and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
