The Koorie Youth Council (KYC) is seeking two passionate Policy Advisors to join our Policy team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to systemic advocacy and policy reform that amplifies the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people across Victoria.
Working closely with the Policy Manager, you will undertake research, develop policy positions, engage with community, and influence decision makers on issues that matter to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
The Koorie Youth Council (KYC) is the representative body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in Victoria. Guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and our statewide membership, KYC advocates for the rights, representation and participation of young people across the state.
Our vision is Koorie Youth, collectively creating our futures so that all young people feel safe, seen and heard.
Through policy, advocacy, leadership development and statewide events, including the annual Koorie Youth Summit, KYC works to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people have a genuine voice in the decisions that shape their lives.
Reporting to the Policy Manager, you will support the development of evidence-based policy and advocacy across a diverse cross-sector portfolio. You will work collaboratively with young people, community organisations, government stakeholders and the wider KYC team to strengthen systemic advocacy and promote meaningful participation in public decision making.
This role combines research, policy development, stakeholder engagement and advocacy to help deliver positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
