The Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) is seeking an experienced and detail-focused HR Advisor / People Partner to join our Human Resources team.
This role provides trusted HR advisory support across employee relations, award interpretation, employee lifecycle processes, workplace health and safety, and HR systems.

The Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) and the state's only specialist legal and support service dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Established in 1973, VALS provides culturally safe legal advice and representation across criminal, family, civil and human rights law, youth justice and specialist litigation. Our broader services include a 24/7 Custody Notification Service, family violence programs, transitional housing support, client services and community legal education.
Our work is grounded in self-determination, cultural safety and creating better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
As HR Advisor | People Partner, you will play an important role in ensuring VALS' people practices are consistent, compliant and supportive.
Working within a collaborative HR team, you will be a key point of contact for managers and employees seeking advice on employment conditions, classifications, policies and HR processes.
You will support the delivery of quality HR services across the employee lifecycle, while contributing to employee relations matters, industrial relations activities, workplace health and safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
