About the Role

The Human Technology Institute (HTI) is currently recruiting for an Operations Coordinator to provide a wide range of administrative services to support HTI’s effective performance across all its operations.

The University of Technology Sydney has established the Human Technology Institute to be an authoritative voice in Australia and internationally on the leadership of responsible technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), for the public good. HTI will work to maximise public benefit in the design and use of new technologies, and address harm especially to the most vulnerable members of our community caused by poor design and use of such technologies. The Institute will embody three interconnected laboratories on AI and new technology: the Skills Lab; the Tools Lab; and the Policy Lab.

As the Operations Coordinator, you will:

  • Establish and maintain effective administrative systems to support HTI programs
  • Provide support with copywriting, collateral of brand logos and other marketing documents
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve a range of queries and issues relating to IT, AV, Finance in line with UTS processes and protocols
  • Assist with diary management for HTI meetings and travel bookings
  • Manage financial administration
  • Provide recruitment administration support

With examples from your previous work experience, please outline, in a separate document, how you meet the following four (4) key selection criteria points below:

  • Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills, and an ability to manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining effective administrative systems
  • High-level problem-solving skills
  • High level of competence in using office management software especially in the use of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and other UTS software and systems (databases, TRIM)

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $73,949 to $84,598 pa (HEW 5).

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for 3 years.
