In this rewarding role, you will work directly with clients experiencing complex legal issues while contributing to broader initiatives that strengthen our community and improve the justice system.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering services using a trauma-informed, client-centred approach.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with community organisations and sector partners.
  • Delivering community legal education and secondary consultations.
  • Contributing to law reform, policy development and advocacy initiatives.
  • Providing supervision and support to lawyers, paralegals, students and volunteers where appropriate.

About You

You are a compassionate, capable lawyer who is committed to improving access to justice and supporting people through some of the most challenging times in their lives.

  • To be successful, you will have:
  • Eligibility to hold an unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
  • An understanding of trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience in, or the ability to quickly develop expertise in, family law and family violence matters.
  • Experience representing clients in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and/or the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (highly regarded).
  • Strong communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent judgement, resilience and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Most importantly, you will bring empathy, professionalism and a genuine commitment to social justice and collaborative practice.

Be Part of Something Bigger
