Senior Manager - Community Housing

Uniting WA

About Us

At Uniting WA, we believe in challenging the convention and exploring new ways to build a better future. Guided by honesty, integrity, and compassion, we stand up for what’s right — confronting injustice with confidence and strength.

We’re a Tier 2 registered Community Housing Provider, managing 316 properties for over 360 supported tenancies. We work in partnership with other organisations to deliver sustainable housing solutions and adopt a supportive landlord model that’s embedded in a person-centred approach. Our focus is always on ensuring our services reflect the needs of the people we support.

About the Role

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for supporting individuals and communities? This is your opportunity to shape the future of our housing pathway — leading growth while ensuring responsive, inclusive, and sustainable property and tenancy management for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

You’ll drive a proactive, positive culture and help ensure the financial sustainability of our housing programs in line with our broader strategic goals.

What You'll Bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to show:

  • Strong ability to build and lead high-performing teams that provide safe, high-quality services.
  • A track record of meeting contract deliverables and driving strategic outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills — internally and externally.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities and a well-established professional network.
  • Confidence managing tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality.
  • A talent for streamlining systems, identifying inefficiencies, and leading operational improvements.
  • Sound resource planning skills to ensure efficient, effective program delivery.
  • Experience managing compliance across a range of frameworks, including:
    • Community Housing Regulatory Framework
    • Property headlease agreements
    • Residential Tenancies Act
  • National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations
  • Experience with budget oversight and financial accountability across service areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effective workforce planning, including recruitment and staff retention.
  • Experience working with funders, government bodies, and partners to maintain funding and compliance.

What You’ll Need

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or 5+ years of sector experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in people management, including performance, development, and remuneration.
  • At least 5 years managing service delivery, financial oversight, and risk and stakeholder management.
  • Previous experience working with or within government housing agencies (highly regarded).
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • A valid WA driver’s licence
