About the Role

Uniting WA and Kinship Connections WA are proudly working together to provide the Family Carer Support Service.

Our program supports Relative/Kinship Carers to build their capacity, access training and link into community supports, to better support the children in their care. We work alongside families, focusing on strengths and building capacity.

This is a case management position and involves working with Family Carers to assist them to develop their parenting skills and address any other issues that may be impacting on their capacity to care for the children placed in their care.

This position is based at Kinship Connections in Kewdale.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

About You

To be successful you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience and understanding of Aboriginal culture and the impacts of the Stolen Generation.
  • Case management skills and experience including planning, coordination, person centred and strengths based practice
  • Experience and understanding working with families and children impacted by the child protection system
  • Highly developed communication and written skills in all areas of communication with children and families and internal and external stakeholders

You must also have the following to be able to successfully apply for this position:

  • A qualifications in the human services field
  • A current National Police Clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • A current Working With Children's Check or the ability to obtain one
  • A current WA Driver's License.
