THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Case Manager is responsible for providing an efficient and quality response to meeting client needs by ensuring that the team work collaboratively towards excellent client outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Support the day to day operation and quality assurance of the team by demonstrating a positive role model and providing direction and guidance to staff
  • Work across Western Adelaide Homelessness teams to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills by participating in meetings, supervision, work groups and planning and development activities;
  • Provide case management services to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in line with UnitingSA case management framework.
  • Provide high quality, goal-orientated services to meet the needs of clients and external customers.
  • Manage referrals, assessing needs and providing appropriate services
  • Respond to client enquiries and complaints.
  • Develop and utilise networks relevant to the needs of people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness
  • Work collaboratively to foster effective communication with key staff and other programs/agencies to achieve client and program expectations and objectives
  • Report trends and issues arising for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing opportunities for people who are disengaged from education, employment and/or their communities
  • Assist in identifying service and sector gaps, and contribute to policy and program development

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Services or equivalent (Degree in Social Work, Education, Youth Work or equivalent experience) essential
  • Qualification or training specifically related to working with individuals and families with multiple and complex needs within the Homelessness sector (desirable)
  • Current SA driver’s licence (essential)
  • Current DHS Working With Children Check (essential)
  • Current Safe Environments for Children and Young People certificate (desirable)
  • Experience and knowledge in Case Management including assessment, planning, referral and advocacy
  • Community skills including networking, negotiating and mediation
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications

You will also demonstrate a positive and professional "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work equally well as a member of a team or working alone.
