At Family by Family, a program by Uniting Communities, we believe all families should thrive, not just survive. We connect families who’ve overcome tough times (Sharing Families) with families seeking support (Seeking Families) to creating real, lasting change for families and communities.

We’re currently seeking Sharing Family Volunteers to walk alongside other families for 10, 20 or 30 weeks. You’ll support families to achieve their goals, build confidence, and model positive change. This unique, peer-to-peer approach includes both parents and children in the journey of growth.

Who we're looking for:

• You care for a child under 18 and have 3–5 hours a week to give
• You've faced tough times and want to use your experiences to help others
• You’re passionate about making a difference and supporting families without judgment
• You’d like to grow your skills in community services

What we offer:

• Flexible volunteering that fits around your family
• Weekly professional coaching support and connection with like-minded families
• Free events, training, counselling, and physio sessions
• Reimbursement of some link-up costs
• Skill-building opportunities to support pathways to employment
• All the necessary trainings will be provided for the role
