About the Opportunity
In this Occupational Therapist role, you’ll work with older people in their own homes.
From falls prevention and hospital avoidance to cognitive, physical and environmental interventions, this varied community-based role supports diverse ageing populations to remain well, confident and connected.
Travel reimbursement included: As this community-based role involves using your own car to visit clients, you’ll be reimbursed at 88 cents per kilometre for work-related travel, with the first 5,000 km tax-free in line with current arrangements.

What you’ll do
- This is a varied community-based role where you will support older people to maintain independence, reduce risk and achieve meaningful goals in their day-to-day lives.
- Complete complex functional assessments in clients’ homes, considering mobility, cognition, daily routines, environmental risks and personal goals
- Deliver falls prevention, hospital avoidance and reablement-focused interventions that support safe ageing at home
- Recommend home modifications, assistive technology and equipment solutions to improve independence and reduce risk
- Support clients living with dementia, changing health needs or end-of-life care needs through practical, person-centred OT input
- Educate families, carers and support teams to embed strategies that improve safety, confidence and quality of life
- Maintain clear documentation and work collaboratively with clients, carers and clinical teams to keep each person’s goals and preferences central to their care
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor qualification in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification
- Current registration with the Australian Health Professional Registration Authority (AHPRA)
- Current Australian Drivers License and access to a vehicle
- Previous experience in Aged Care or similar industry is preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with others
- Demonstrated ability to conduct health screenings and functional assessments.
