About the opportunity

This is a part-time 6-month opportunity working a minimum of 25 hours and up to full-time hours fortnightly across a 2-week rotating roster (possible extension).

Uniting is seeking a dedicated and respectful Disability Support Worker to join our 10-person group home on the Central Coast. Working with participants on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you will positively engage people with various mental health disabilities, contributing to making a meaningful difference by building their capacity with daily living, confidence in accessing the community and within themselves.

Our service operates in a 24/7 environment, we are looking for flexible staff to join our committed team of 20 and can be available to work a rotating roster with differing shifts. Shifts will vary between 3 hours - 10 hours in duration. With a mixture of - morning, evening including some overnight & weekend shifts.

About You

  • Full NSW Drivers licence 
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, or equivalent accreditation in social science/community services
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care
  • Demonstrated experience managing challenging behaviours and behaviour support plans
  • Demonstrated experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to maintain accurate records
  • Experience supporting participants from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds would be advantageous
  • Current paid Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
