  • This is a part time permanent opportunity working 3 days per week!

What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Diploma Qualified Educator, you’ll provide quality education and care to children to help support , develop and facilitate learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework! 

Your work will include:

  • Contribute to the development of educational programs which reflect the approved learning framework, including play therapy.
  • Developing positive and respectful relationships that support children, their families and community.
  • Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.
  • Documenting children’s learning through observations and assessments against learning outcomes 
  • Implement and follow Uniting’s policies and procedures across all aspects of service delivery
  • Work in collaboration with members of a team
  • Being involved in Intergenerational programs

Who we’re looking for

  • Diploma in Children Services (essential), with previous experience working at a Diploma Level in an early learning service.
  • A work history that demonstrates recording observations, writing learning stories and supporting the planning of a successful curriculum using the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Understand the National Quality Framework and EYLF
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community members
  • Trauma informed practices is welcomed (or willingness to learn).
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.

About the service:

Uniting Summer Hill Children's Centre philosophy is designed to focus on identity and belonging for all children with a program rich in language, literacy, creative expression, exploration, investigation and children's citizenship. Summer Hill has a beautiful learning environment for children and families. Opening hours are 7.30am to 6.00pm. We have an indoor and outdoor long day care program for children between 3-5 years old. You will be working with a supportive team of experienced Educators.
