About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Home and Community Care team on a Full-time permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating and leading the implementation of clinical policies and practices throughout the services and provide clinical expertise to clients, families and employees.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Providing support, education and mentorship to Support Advisors, Registered and Enrolled Nurses where applicable
  • Maintaining professional development to align with professional standards and organisational principles
  • Delivering care for older people who require person-centred clinical nursing support in a way that is safe and fulfils the ideals of the person
  • Providing clinical nursing care for older people within an environment of increasing acuity
  • Sharing a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex nursing care directed to Home and Community Care clients, families and employees

Qualifications

  • Current Australian Health Professional Registration Authority for a Registered Nurse
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Post graduate qualification in a speciality related to Aged care with 12 months experience working in aged care OR four years post registration experience, including three years experience in aged care, in a community setting

Skills & experience

  • Five or more years’ experience, including two or more years’ experience supervising a small specialist team
  • Previous experience in a clinical position in aged care or community setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary aged care clinical practice
  • Strong assessment and written documentation skills
  • Sound negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills
