• Base annual rate of $82,622 to $88,894 negotiable

About the opportunity:

When someone is facing homelessness, they're often navigating one of the most difficult periods of their life. The right support at the right time can mean the difference between sleeping rough and finding safety, stability and hope.

At Uniting, we're looking for a compassionate and proactive Caseworker to join our Doorways Central Coast team. If you're passionate about helping people secure safe housing, building strong community partnerships and advocating for those experiencing homelessness, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference every single day.

As a Caseworker, you'll work alongside individuals and families who are homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness, helping them navigate housing options, access critical support services and build a pathway towards long-term stability.

You'll become a trusted point of contact, providing practical support during times of crisis while working collaboratively with housing providers, government agencies and community organisations to create better outcomes for people across the Central Coast.

No two days are the same—but every day you'll know your work has purpose.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting individuals and families at risk of homelessness through assessment, case coordination and practical intervention.
• Helping people remain safely housed wherever possible or connecting them with crisis, transitional and longer-term accommodation.
• Providing information, referrals, advocacy and outreach support tailored to each person's circumstances.
• Building strong partnerships with housing providers, DCJ Housing and local community organisations to improve access to services.
• Developing referral pathways that create better, faster outcomes for people experiencing housing insecurity.
• Representing Uniting across local homelessness networks and community forums.
• Maintaining accurate case notes, reporting and data in line with Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) requirements.
• Raising awareness of homelessness through community engagement and collaborative initiatives.

Your Qualifications & Experience

• Qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology or another relevant social science discipline. (Minimum Diploma)
• Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity or complex family circumstances.
• Strong assessment, advocacy and case management skills.
• A strengths-based, trauma-informed and person-centred approach.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across services.
• Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills, accurate record keeping and confidence using client management systems.
• A current driver's licence and current NSW WWCC.
