About the opportunity

Uniting seeks Assistants in Nursing / Care Service Employees to work at Uniting residential facilities (Jarman, Kalina, Marima) in Goonellabah, NSW, starting on a part time permanent basis.

Our Care Workers (Assistants in Nursing / Care Service Employees) are motivated to work collaboratively to enhance the residents’ well-being and are inclusive of their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual qualities. They encourage them to facilitate self-determination, their full capacity, and resilience, as well as improve social engagement and quality of life.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Providing a wide range of personal care services to residents
  • Supervise daily hygiene – showers or baths, shaving, cutting nails; layout clothes and assist in dressing; make beds and tidy rooms; store clothes and clean wardrobes
  • Assist and support residents with medication, utilising medication compliance aids, simple wound dressing, etc.
  • Assist with meals and feeding
  • Recognise, report, and respond appropriately to changes in the condition of residents.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent qualification (or working towards)
  • Influenza and Covid vaccination (essential)
