Uniting is seeking local candidates in the Bega Valley and Eden areas who are looking for sponsorship opportunities. To be considered, applicants must have a minimum of two years’ experience in aged care or a similar care role, hold a current driver’s licence, have access to a reliable vehicle, and already be living locally within the Bega Valley or Eden.

About Uniting Eden

Like any small town, everyone knows everyone in Uniting Eden. 

There are four separate households, each with between 12 and 30 residents, and a Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our team ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable. 

Household Living – our innovative approach to care – empowers residents to live their day their way, just as they would in any family home. 

What you’ll be doing in this role 

  • You’ll provide care, companionship, and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
  • Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes, and with general mobility 
  • Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings, and 
  • Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities. 

Sponsorship eligibility criteria:

  • Have a relevant Aged Care qualification (Cert III or above), OR at least 1 year full-time equivalent experience in their nominated occupation
  • Have valid English language test results (IELTS 5.0 or higher OR PTE 36 or higher, plus at least 30 in all four test components. Test results are valid for 3 years from issue).
  • Have no adverse Australian visa history
  • Meet health and character requirements
  • Obtain police checks for countries they have lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years
  • Provide identity documents for themselves, their partner and children
  • Hold valid health insurance
  • Be able to cover the application fees for their visa application and those of their partner/children (Uniting cover the mandatory government fees and professional migration fees).

Who we’re looking for 

  • You will have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
  • You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care or a similar role. 2 years minimum.
  • Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
