Practice Lead Mental Health

Many in our community suffer from serious mental health issues that can cause them to suffer repeated admissions to the hospital or criminal justice systems. Our mission is to provide a stable environment built on safety, respect and trust that helps to keep them safe and break the cycle and live a different life of their choosing.

About the position

The Practice Lead / Team Leader will oversee the operation of our residential properties with the support of the Senior Operations Manager, to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. The position will support staff through role modeling, coaching and supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Role modelling effective person-centred practice
  • Providing direction, coaching and development to your team to address learning needs and build capability
  • Support the team to provide high-quality services - ensuring each participant's plans and goals are assessed and evaluated in line with their aspirations
  • Provide effective onboarding, orientation and development for the team, supporting their engagement and development
  • Conduct regular team meetings and monthly practice supervision sessions for each team member
  • Support the team to understand and manage participant risks

About You

Ideally, you will come from a background that means you have deep commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities and or criminal justice system.

  • Strong psychosocial experience supporting medium to high complex behaviours
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead, coach and develop a team to achieve best quality outcomes
  • Ability to empower lives through Trauma Informed Practice
  • Clinical background is highly desirable
  • Ability to incorporate effective planning, time management, problem solving, organisational skills and resourcing, whilst achieving quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of available community services, networks and supports
  • Desire to join a for purpose organisation fostering a diverse culture of respect and growth where differences are valued.

Desired:

  • Exposure / Experience working with participants coming from the criminal justice system and or Mental Health is highly regarded
