The UFUSA Legal and Industrial Coordinator will play an important role in our small team, providing advice, and support, to members and officers on a range of matters including interpreting industrial instruments, under and over payment of wages, industrial, disciplinary, promotion, training, and workers compensation matters.

The Legal and Industrial Coordinator will draft, lodge, and have conduct of litigation, disputes and other matters in Courts and Tribunals including the SA Employment Tribunal and Fair Work Commission, and will as conduct research and prepare reports on industrial and health and safety matters and contribute to submissions on law reform. The role will be responsible for providing strategic advice directly to the union's senior officers on industrial and legal matters.

about you

A Law degree and South Australian practising certificate is required for this position, and the successful applicant will ideally have experience as a legal or industrial officer or in a legal practice in industrial relations or workers compensation.

We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrated commitment to the principles of trade unionism, a sound knowledge of industrial relations, work health and safety, and workers compensation. Advocacy experience, and a commitment to working as a team and high level interpersonal and written communication skills are necessary.
