Regional Manager - Northern Queensland - Cairns / Townsville

UnitingCare are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Regional Manager in Northern Queensland. You will join our Regional Qld Family and Disability Services Leadership Team on a full time basis and be based in Cairns or Townsville. Travel is a requirement of the role.

The Opportunity:

As the Regional Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and operational and financial management for the Family Services Stream throughout Northern QLD. You will be responsible for managing existing services, developing and enhancing the delivery of these services, leading community capacity building and contributing to the broader UnitingCare strategic direction. As the Regional Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Building, developing and managing high performing teams across the region to ensure a high standard of service and compliance with relevant legislation;
  • Financial, human resource and operational management of all service and program areas;
  • Leading and managing the continuous improvement of programs and seeking opportunities for expansion of services and establishment of new service offerings;
  • Providing expert, comprehensive and timely advice on issues impacting community services;
  • Developing and reporting on operational plans for all services within the region;
  • Developing and maintaining networks, relationships and partnerships both internally and externally to the organisation, including government and community organisations, to support the delivery of quality client outcomes;
  • Establishing effective change management strategies throughout client services programs

About you:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated achievements in providing strategic leadership and management for service planning in a large, complex service delivery organisation. You will be a leader of leaders, having lead and managed family services previously, with an understanding of specialist programs; including ideally, a comprehensive understanding of contemporary community services and sector reform agendas including child protection and domestic and family violence.

Supplementing this, you will present with the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field including behavioural sciences
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by regional and remote services; including managing the challenges of recruitment, support, supervision and quality service provision.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key legislation and standards that exist at the Federal and State levels that impact on service delivery for Community Services.
  • Demonstrated achievements in determining and implementing future organisational directions, facilitating effective change management processes and creating an environment that embraces change to enhance strategic performance and service to clients.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing staff, co-ordinating planning project teams and cultivating productive working relationships, partnerships and teamwork.
  • High level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills with particular emphasis on negotiation of funding agreements and grants for viability
